New Meets Old
Colchester, Vermont
This elegant, custom designed farmhouse features a field stone exterior color, matte gray standing seam metal front porch roof, classic lighting, and upgraded garage doors. This client was keen on the classic square look and clean lines. The sprawling front porch features large, square permacast columns, all windows are custom 2 over 2 square grids, and the garage and main front peak includes square windows with larger trim surround. Interior features include an open floor plan which provided challenges for accommodating forced hot air heat and air conditioning, but with careful planning this was attained. The kitchen features a classic farm style, SS sink and faucet, square shaker doors, custom range and hood, herring bone backsplash, quartz tops, and a large island for seating. The fireplace includes a fieldstone surround and custom mantle. Other interior features include 3-panel square inset doors, custom window trim with stool cap, and square edge baseboard. The staircase showcases square maple newel posts, square white balusters, and custom stained maple treads to match the rustic hardwood flooring. The mudroom features slate flooring, custom built in cubbies, hooks, and bench with storage for hats and gloves. The master suite includes a large walk in closet, dual sink vanity with farm style faucets and marble tops, and a tiled shower with dual control rain shower head and hand control. Thoughtful decisions and careful planning were an integral part of this build process.
